Tiger Woods Returning to Golf Next Week for Match Play Championship

February 20, 2009

(ChattahBox) — With the birth of Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, on Feb. 8, all obstacles were removed and he is ready to resume his career. Tiger, made it official announcing on his Web site tigerwoods.com Thursday, that he will play in next week’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona. It will be his first tournament since having reconstructive ACL surgery right after winning the U.S. Open last June.

It has been a long 253-day break from competition for the world’s No. 1 player and his fans,as television ratings plunged while Tiger missed the second half of the 2008 season, including two majors, the Ryder Cup and the FedEx Cup playoffs. The Match Play Championship begins Wednesday in Tucson, Ariz., where Woods is a three-time winner.

The only fun thing to watch about Tiger is when he is very close to almost losing, and then pulls a bunch of desperate tricks up his sleeve to win. Majors are always fun. I don’t like it when he runs away from the field. It gets boring week after week. It’s then the Tiger show and it’s B O R I N G.
