LeBron James Voted 2009 NBA MVP

May 4, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James won the league MVP on Monday, received 109 of a possible 121 first-place votes. I don’t think many would argue that LeBron has truly become King James on the basketball count and the landslide vote seams to bear that out. An unstoppable force at both ends of the court, LeBron easily beat out  Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant last year’s winner, and Miami guard Dwyane Wade who also had a fabulous season.
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and New Orleans guard Chris Paul finished fourth and fifth respectively.  James is the first Cavaliers player to win the award, averaging 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists this season, his sixth as a pro. He also finished second in voting for defensive player of the year.

Congratulations! LeBron James deserves and earned the MVP award no doubt. Wade also had an incredible season, but LeBron and with the Cavs success was crazy.
