Brett Favre reportedly turns down Minnesota Vikings

May 7, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Brett Favre has turned down the Minnesota Vikings and will remain retired, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports. Favre returning to his old conference after his release from the Jets to take revenge on his old team seemed to be a good fit. Favre who turns 40 in October, may be on the decline but would likely have been an upgrade over Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson and combining with Adrian Peterson would have made the Vikes serious contenders in the NFC North. It’s not known if a torn biceps muscle in his throwing shoulder may have been a contributing factor to his decision. Favre has changed his mind a few times in the past about retirement, so let’s not write off his return just yet.
