Rumor: Cleveland Cavaliers to replace Coach Brown With Pat Riley

June 11, 2009

Ohio (ChattahBox) – A new rumor featured in NBC Sports says that the Cleveland Cavaliers may be fed up with their coach, Mike Brown.

NBC Sports alleges that the home office is looking to get rid of Brown, who they say has shown a weak game plan through the season, especially after the Cavaliers lost to Orlando 99-89 in May.

But who would be set to replace him? Apparently the rumored favorite is Pat Riley (shown left), team president to the Miami Heat.

While Riley may be considered one of the top coaches of the era, it seems an odd move to decide to replace Brown so soon after winning Coach of the Year. It would seem that the award has become more of a kiss of death than an honor, as the NBA seems to tell Brown that he may be the best leader, but not good enough for the Cavs who had a great season but disappointed in the playoffs.
