Former NFL MVP QB Steve McNair shot and killed
July 4, 2009
(ChattahBox) — Former Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens QB Steve McNair has been killed according to Nashville police. McNair, 36, and a 20-year-old female who was not his wife, were found shot to death, in an apparent double homicide.
McNair was found dead on a sofa in the living room Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head. His friend, Sahel Kazemi, lay close to him on the floor, killed by a single gunshot. A pistol was discovered near her, but Nashville police said it took a while to find the firearm. Police are reportedly not actively looking for suspects, but have not as of yet called the deaths the result of a murder-suicide.
McNair one of the toughest quarterbacks in football and had a distinguished career. He was a three-time Pro Bowler, he led the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV, was the NFL co-MVP in 2003, and retired in April 2008 after a 13-year career.
