Man charged with murder in stabbing of UConn football player

(ChattahBox) — A defense attorney says his client, John William Lomax, 21, is charged with murder in, the stabbing of UConn football player Jasper Howard. Lomax reportedly not a student at the university, is in UConn police custody on $2 million bail.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Monday for the the 20-year-old former South Florida high school football standout who was fatally stabbed during an altercation outside a university-sanctioned dance, hours after helping his team to a homecoming game win over Louisville., early on Oct 18. Police have been unable to find the knife used to stab Howard. State police have scheduled an early afternoon news conference to announce what they call “significant developments” in the investigation.
