New Jersey Nets End Record Losing Streak

December 5, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Playing like an expansion team for the first month and then some of this season the New Jersey Nets finally have won a game, snapping the worst season-opening losing streak in NBA history. It ended up taking 38 days, 18 defeats, and one fired coach, to get the job done. General manager Kiki Vandewegh, who will coach the rest of the season, earned his first win as his players took down the Charlotte Bobcats 97-91. The game was close, but featured stellar performances from several Nets, with Center Brook Lopez leading the Nets with 31 points and 14 rebounds, while guard Courtney Lee contributed 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting.
