Tiger Woods to Emerge From Hiding, Make Statement on Friday

February 17, 2010

(ChattahBox)—-Tiger Woods has remained hidden from the public eye since his Thanksgiving night car crash and shocking revelations of serial adultery, became fodder for late-night comedians. But according to an announcement released today by his agent, Woods plan to make his first public appearance in three months on Friday, before a small group of reporters. Woods will make a statement, but will not take questions.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg told the Associated Press, “This is all about the next step.” “He’s looking forward to it.”

Woods will issue his statement from the clubhouse of the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. And it will be carried live during the Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona.

Steinberg said Tiger plans to speak to a “small group of friends, colleagues and close associates” about his past indiscretions and will apologize for his behavior, which resulted in Woods losing many of his lucrative endorsements and taking a break from professional golf.

“It was a matter of timing,” said Steinberg. Woods has reportedly received treatment for his sexual addiction at a Mississippi clinic and recently returned home to Florida.
