Cops Seize Gun of Ex-Colts Receiver Marvin Harrison
June 17, 2010
(ChattahBox)—Former Indianapolis Colts star receiver Marvin Harrison, was stopped by the Philadelphia police for driving the wrong way on a one-way street Wednesday that resulted in the seizure of his gun. Although, the record-breaking NFL receiver had a permit to carry a firearm, he denied to police officers that it was in his possession.
The Philadelphia police officers plan to test the confiscated weapon to determine if it was used in a 2008 shooting linked to Harrison:
“According to the law enforcement sources, the patrolman saw Harrison place something that appeared to be a weapon in the seat console of his car. When the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle, Harrison produced a car registration and a permit to carry a weapon, both of which were in order. When he was asked whether he had a weapon, however, he answered no, the sources said.” [...]
“The target of that shooting survived the incident and accused Harrison of being the gunman, but the victim died after being shot again just three months later.”
No criminal charges were filed against Harrison in the 2008 shooting, but he faces two civil lawsuits stemming from the incident.
Harrison was not charged with a crime and was allowed to leave by the police, after his handgun was taken.
