Microsoft Jumps Into Virtualization With Hyper-V Launch
June 27, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - Microsoft as jumped into the market of server virtualization with the launch of Hyper-V.
Microsoft Hyper-V was originally supposed to release with Windows Server 2008, but was delayed. Microsoft then promised to have it out by August, and they did so.
Hyper-V launched on Thursday to much fanfare, as Microsoft is hoping that its price, Windows Server integration, and usability factors will allow it to do well in the market.
Microsoft will be competing with the likes of VMware as well as Citrix.
