Those who are caught holding a cell phone and talking while driving will be pulled over and issued a fine.

The law will go into effect on Tuesday with no grace period at all.

Police officers who see people talking on a cell phone while driving have the power to pull them over and give out a ticket.

The fine for a first offense will result in a $20 ticket. From there, it will move up to $50 per offense.

The hope is that this will cut down on the number of car accidents in the state.

Adults can still use a cell phone while driving as long as it is a hands-free device.

Those under 18 are not allowed to use a cell phone of any kind, hands-free or hand-held.
