Market research iSuppli has revealed that Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is gaining some ground on the chip market leader, Intel...Washington (ChattahBox) – Market research iSuppli has revealed that Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is gaining some ground on the chip market leader, Intel.

AMD has a great first quarter, with their overall market revenue rising by 2.2% compared to the same point a year ago. This built up their share of the market to 13%

Intel did not do so well, as their sales dropped by 0.7% compared to last year, bringing their share of the market down to 79.7%.

AMD and Intel combined made up 92.7% of the market share for chip revenue in the first quarter in total.

Market researcher iSuppli has shown with these numbers that AMD is beginning to gain some ground on the chip market leader, Intel.
