Apple has announced a price drop for the high-end MacBook Air.  The new price represents a $500 reduction....Washington (ChattahBox) – Apple has announced a price drop for the high-end MacBook Air. The new price represents a $500 reduction.

A brand new high-end MacBook Air with a 1.8GHz processor, and 64GB solid-state drive now costs just $2,598, down from $3,098.

The price drop to upgrade from the 1.6GHz processor to the 1.8GHz processor now costs just $100 compared to $200.

The price of the NAND flash memory technology to produce the solid-state drives costs $400 less as well now, meaning the overall price drop is around $500.
