Amazon Video on Demand will build on the past video store offering from the retailer, delivering streaming content straight to consumers whenever they want it.

Past efforts by Amazon required users to fully download content before they viewed it.

This time around though, Amazon is poised to do battle with iTunes and others as they will be streaming movies and TV shows.

The new Amazon Video on Demand service required you to have a Sony Bravia Internet Video Link, which costs around $300. More options will be forthcoming.
