Intel Puts Pressure On AMD By Cutting Prices Of Chips

Intel has made a move which will put a great deal of pressure on rival AMD, by lowering the price point of many of their chips...Washington (ChattahBox) – Intel has made a move which will put a great deal of pressure on rival AMD, by lowering the price point of many of their chips.

The chip which is getting the biggest price cut is the Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz), reduced from $266 down to $183.

On top of that, the chip known as the Core 2 Duo E7200 (2.53GHz) is receiving a price cut from $133 to $113.

Other chips, such as Xeon server processors, as well as the quad-core Q6600, are receiving price cuts of, on average, around 10 to 12%.

This comes according to a new Intel pricing list, dated July 20.
