San Francisco Mayor Visits Childs In Jail, Gets Network Codes
July 23, 2008
San Francisco (ChattahBox) - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom went to jail on Monday night to visit San Francisco IT administrator Terry Childs, who handed over the codes to the city network.
Childs has been holding the passwords as hostages in a sense, not giving them out.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the visit was a secret one planned out by Mayor Newsom and defense attorney Erin Crane.
This came under 2 weeks after the 43-year old Terry Childs was arrested for computer tampering.
Childs entered a plea of not guilty and has not cooperated up to this point.
As of now, there is work to be done as officials try to restore and gain full access over the network, setting up new passwords for administrators.
