TiVo Joins Up With Amazon To Simplify Shopping On Your TV
July 23, 2008
Hollywood (ChattahBox) - TiVo announced on Tuesday that they have partnered with Amazon.com for a new shopping channel, allowing consumers to purchase products while they watch TV.
This new service will allow TiVo subscribers to use their remote control to make impulse purchases of products they see on TV from Amazon.
To start with, there will be four TV shows working with the service, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Colbert Report, and Burn Notice.
A product-purchase option will work with other shows as well.
The idea behind the deal is to allow for a consumer to purchase a product they see on TV instantly, so that they do not have to remember it later.
The service will automatically figure out shipping and tax, presenting the user with the final bill. After that all that is required is for a user to approve the purchase, and your product will be on the way.
