The study looked at 214 web sites of financial institutions in 2006, and found that 75% of financial institutions had web sites which had a design flaw.

These design flaws put customers at risk of having their information hacked into.

The flaws were all design flaws, meaning they could not be fixed with a simple patch.

Some examples were having a secure log-in box on an insecure page, as well as having contact information on insecure pages.

Other data found included 39% of the sites having customers being redirected outside of the bank site’s domain without warning.
