The new line of processors are called the EP80579, and will be used in all types of tiny electronic devices.

This could bring the computing power of a full PC to your in-car entertainment system, portable device, etc.

In turn, this could lead to that same computing power, bringing the Internet to your car, or anywhere else.

The new series of chips consist of 8 processors in total which combine a series of chips into one, called system-on-a-chip (SoC) processors. They will be using a Pentium M computing core.

This comes on top of Intels plan to launch their Intel Atom chips, which are aimed at mobile Internet devices.
