Apple has successfully held a September event each year for the past three years, and has seen their shares increase significantly before and after the event going into the holiday season.

This year appears no different, as Apple is set to do it all over again, and is hoping for the same result.

Apple is expected to update the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle designs, and will also likely reduce the price of the iPod Touch to $199, matching the price of the iPhone 3G.

On top of that, Apple is also expected to update their line of MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks, with the possible announcement of a $999 MacBook.

The other big rumor is that they will unveil a new MacBook Pro which will feature a touch-screen display similar to the iPod Touch and iPhone.
