Yahoo revealed their new open-platform location-based service on Wednesday, known as Fire Eagle.

The service is going to work and be integrated with social networks, and other things to allow users to have their location constantly updated via their mobile phone wherever they are.

Privacy advocates fear that this could create great danger, as people will be able to find others at all times.

Yahoo has fought back these claims though, as they have stated that users will have full control over the information they share.

This can allow them to delete any stored information, change preferences as to who can see their location, etc.

The bottom line for privacy advocates though is that even with this, Yahoo is still going to be watching.
