Toshiba Makes Big Improvements To DVDs With New Player
August 18, 2008
Boston (ChattahBox) - Toshiba may no longer have their high-definition format, HD-DVD alive, but they are certainly moving forward. The company revealed the Toshiba XD-E500 DVD player, which will greatly improve your DVD collection.
This new product from Toshiba is set to perform as a 1080p/24fps upscaling DVD player.
There have been several processing modes installed into the player to improve DVDs so that they look almost as good as Blu-ray or HD-DVD.
The player upconverts your DVDs by improving sharpness, color, and contrast.
This is not an attempt to battle Blu-ray, but instead is an attempt to appeal to the mass market DVD buyers.
The player will retail for just $149.
