PhotoSynth is a very unique piece of software developed in a Microsoft Research project.

It works by taking a series of photos from one location, and turns them into a 3D tour.

Once your 3D tour is created, users can then upload them to Photosynth.net, and share it with the rest of the world.

This provides a whole new way to show off virtual locations, without the need for any video.

For PhotoSynth to work, the photos need to overlap each other, so that they can be meshed together.

The software will be free, and is releasing with great anticipation.
