The idea behind Ubiquity is to allow average Internet users to be able to create mashups.

Mashups are when you take applications such as Google Maps, Digg, etc. and then build your own application incorporating all of them.

The belief is that over time, this could rid of the need to have tabs in a Web browser.

Mozilla’s Ubiquity service, in time, could allow users to create new user interfaces, and do things online faster and easier.

The new service is now in testing.
