Sony Hopes Upgraded PSP Can Beat Out Nintendo DS

Washington (ChattahBox) – Sony has given a firm release date for their upgraded model of the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld in Japan, with hopes that they can compete with the Nintendo DS, beating it out during the holiday shopping season.
Sony announced the new upgraded PSP recently, as the PSP-3000 will feature some nice additions.
The bigges improvement is the fact that the new PSP is going to feature an LCD panel, as well as a built-in microphone to improve the Skype Web phone functionality.
The brand new model of the PSP is going to release on October 16, 2008 in Japan.
