Researchers were led by Dr. William Maisel.at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston.

They tested a total of 60-patients on either defibrillators or pacemakers.

They found that the magnets in these devices posed a great deal of harm to the heart devices.

In some cases, the headphones actually deactivated the defibrillators.

Researchers want mp3 headphones to carry warnings to showcase this risk.

The study was presented at a conference of the American Heart Association.
