Nokia Launches New Phone: The N97 – perhaps most powerful mobile yet

December 2, 2008

USA (Chattahbox) – Rumors and speculation have been swirling for months about the new Nokia project that has been kept carefully under wraps, and today we got official word of what that project was: the Nokia N97, a smartphone that was unveiled in Barcelona today. They are calling it the “world’s most advanced mobile computer”, and with the features and details of this pocket-sized wonder, it isn’t hard to see why.

Boasting an amazing 48 gigabytes of memory, a touch screen display, and small sliding keyboard, and a battery capable of 4.5-hours of video playback, the claims that this will rival the iPhone seem to be legitimate ones. However, whether or not it will be able to fully launch without the complaints the iPhone’s bugs and sudden drop in price gathered it’s first week, only time will tell.

The Nokia N97 is set to be released for sale soon with a retail value of $693 USD, and I know I will be waiting with bated breath to hear it’s first reviews.
