First Ever Virtual Muslim World Prototype Released

December 11, 2008

Finland (ChattahBox) – A new virtual world for Muslims has been released today, from the creators of Muxlim.com, the largest on-line Muslim resource.

While still in it’s early stages, the prototype for Muxlim Pal has been official launched, an on-line world designed both to mirror the lifestyle of most Muslims, and to help create understanding in non-Muslims about the similarities as well as the difference of Muslim culture.

“From what we have seen from our market research is that most Muslims have a lifestyle that is not so different from everybody else,” said Mohamed El-Fatatry, creator of Muxlim.com and Muxlim Pal.. “They all share the core values which are from Islam then beyond that they actually have made identities, they have many interests.”

Muxlim Pal is very similar to other on-line virtual worlds, where people can create an avatar, use it to visit places in the world, like shopping centers, beaches, and hang out spots, and connect with other people of related interests.

But it’s still in it’s infancy, and will likely grow quite a bit over the coming year.

“This is nowhere near the vision of where it will be someday,” promised El-Fatatry. “It is very important to put things out and listen to how people interact with it. What feedback they give us and then that will play a big role in which direction we take the product in.”
