Windows 7 beta leaks to Internet

December 29, 2008

(ChattahBox) — Excitment is growing as Microsoft Corp will release the first Windows 7 beta build in as little as 2-3 weeks. But some folks are anxious for an early peak as an early version has been leaked to the Internet, according to searches at several BitTorrent sites today.

Although Microsoft has promised to open the beta to all users in early 2009, it has been silent on an exact release date. Information published on its own Web site earlier this month, however, hinted that the beta will be available no later than Jan. 13.

The successor to the problem and perception plagued Windows Vista will ship in late 2009 or early 2010, according to previous statements by Microsoft executives.

Microsoft seems to have put a lot of effort into developing a core operating system that is free from the pointless frills of the likes of XP and Vista. Most expect Windows 7 will do well particularly at first because there’s so much pent-up demand from Windows users who have been avoiding Vista, and the new OS seems to have numerous worthy improvements.
