Oops! Zappos’ Site Mistakenly Prices Everything $49.99

(ChattahBox)—”There’s nothing quite like the feeling of finding your favorite brands for less,” boasts online discount retailer 6pm.com. And that sentiment was certainly true during the wee hours from midnight to 6am PST, when everything on the website was mistakenly priced at $49.99. Oops!

The sister discount site of Zappos announced it would be honoring all of the purchases made, during the $49.99 free-for-all, eating a loss of over $1.6 million. Although a discount website, 6pm.com also offers luxury items, such as GPS devices that sell for nearly $2,000 and a King Baby Studio necklace encrusted with black diamonds for $1,000

Aaron Magness, director of brand marketing and business development, acknowledged the great bargains for late-night shoppers, which certainly lived up to the website’s motto: “Shop. Save. Smile.”

“While we’re sure this was a great deal for customers, it was inadvertent, and we took a big loss selling so many items so far under cost,” said Magness. “However, it was our mistake. We will be honoring all purchases that took place on 6pm.com during our mess up,” he says. “We apologize to anyone that was confused and/or frustrated during out little hiccup, and thank you all for being such great customers.”

Meanwhile, with the glitch fixed, we can pine over a $500.00 Jean Paul Gaultier Checkboard Bracelet and a snazzy looking Oakley Watch priced at over $400 and dream.
