iPhone Service Problem Was Known, According to Apple Worker
July 15, 2010
(ChattahBox) – An anonymous source within Apple told BusinessWeek that Steve Jobs was well aware of the service problems that the iPhone 4 could face, well before the actual release.
The antenna design used is new, never before used by mobile companies. Because of this, it is only natural that a flaw would be detected, and even post-release might be forgivable. Except that, if the story is true, Apple officials knew about it, and released in anyway, without a fix.
Not only that, but they attempted to cover it by claiming that it was a software issue involving the service bar display.
It was clear back in 2009 that Ruben Caballero, a senior engineer, told Apple management that the flaw would lead to dropped calls by users. Another carrier partner also told Jobs and his team that there would be problems prior to the release.
Apple refused to comment, and Caballero is refusing to interview with the publication.
