(ChattahBox) – Business Week is reporting that Facebook is having a meeting today, where they may be deciding to launch their own location service, which would give users the ability to show where they were going, where they had been, and share locations with friends.

Services like Foursquare have become quite popular over the years, and that website alone has now gained 500 million members, far beyond where they were expected. This led to consideration of a deal with Google, Bing and Yahoo, which is expected to further boost their popularity if they finalize the details.

The new service may be unveiled and the release authorized today, while Facebook holds a conference with employees and management.

They have been talking about possible location services for months, so it would be ab out time. It can only be seen as the next step in social networking for the largest site dedicated to the process on the web.

What do you think? Will you use it if it is released?
