President George W. Bush helped kick off construction of the replacement Walter Reed Army hospital on Thursday...Washington (ChattahBox) – President George W. Bush helped kick off construction of the replacement Walter Reed Army hospital on Thursday.

The new Walter Reed Army hospital, which is expected to be fully constructed in 2011 will replace the current Army facility located in Washington.

It will be a combined facility, as it will also incorporate the National Navy Medical Center.

The old Walter Reed Army hospital has been at the center of a great deal of controvery over the past year. This was due to the way the location cared for veterans, among other things.
