U.S. professor Randy Pausch, best known for his inspirational Last Lecture he delivered when he learned he had terminal cancer, has died at the age of 47..Boston (ChattahBox) – U.S. professor Randy Pausch, best known for his inspirational Last Lecture he delivered when he learned he had terminal cancer, has died at the age of 47.

A spokeswoman for Carnegie Mellon University stated that the 47-year old Pausch passed away on Friday.

Pausch taught at the university since 1997, and was praised as a very inspirational and passionate teacher.

On September 18 of last year, he shot to fame around the world when he gave his Last Lecture at the university.

He delivered the Last Lecture after he learned that he was dying of pancreatic cancer.

He stated in the lecture, “We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just the way we play the hand.”

On YouTube alone, more than 3.2 million people have watched the Last Lecture, which was videotaped and broadcasted around the world.

The lecture turned into a book, also called The Last Lecture. It has been translated into 30 languages, and is a best-seller around the globe.
