He is set to make his announcement in Ohio at around noon, as rumors continue to fly over who he will choose.

The only thing that has been confirmed to this point is that Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will not be the vice presidential nominee.

He told WCCO Radio in Minneapolis – St. Paul, Minnesota on Friday that he will not be in Dayton, Ohio for the event.

The hope is that the McCain campaign will be able to draw a great deal of buzz from the announcement, one day after Barack Obama picked up his steam for his campaign, accepting the Democratic nomination.

The two likely choices at this point include Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Both are expected to be at the side of McCain for his rally on Saturday in Pennsylvania.  The other name being thrown around is Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut.

We will know for sure in just a matter of hours.
