Sarah Palin as his running mate may not have been the right one.  This comes as a new poll shows Democratic nominee Barack Obama building on his lead.

According to a new USA TODAY/Gallup poll, Barack Obama is building on his lead over McCain.

The new poll which was taken on Friday show that many do not feel Gov. Sarah Palin has what it takes to be the president if she needed to be.

The new poll showed that 33% stated that she is not ready to service as president if something were to ever happen to John McCain.

39%, on the other hand, stated that she is ready to serve as president, while 29% had no opinion at all.

This compares to 57% who believe that Barack Obama’s running mate, Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, is ready to take over as president if needed.

The poll revealed that Obama now had a lead over McCain of 49% to 41%.
