Obama, McCain Drop The Gloves, Battle Over Health Care
October 20, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Republican candidate John McCain have dropped the gloves and continue to do battle over who has the best plan to fix health care in the United States..
Currently there are over 45 million Americans living without health insurance.
Throughout the election, it has become very clear that health care is one of the biggest topics.
Obama and McCain have been going to to toe on the topic for months now.
In the latest string of attacks, Barack Obama has stated ina new ad that the McCain plan would cut Medicare by nearly $1 trillion over the next decade.
The ad states the McCain plan would require “cuts in benefits, eligibility, or both” in terms of Medicare and Medicaid.
Obama wants to focus on employer-based health insurance, and bring federal health care to those who cannot afford it.
McCain is more against employer-based health insurance, and will offer a $2,500 tax credit to individuals and a $5,000 credit to families to buy health insurance.
Obama stated his plan can offer 35 million Americans who do not have insurance, the ability to get it.
We will have to wait and see as the two continue to fight over health care.
