Obama Has Health Care Reform In Sights Heading To Office
November 11, 2008
Washington (ChattahBox) - President-elect Barack Obama has health care reform in his sights as he heads into office.
As of right now there are 47 million people living in the United States who do not have health insurance.
One reason he was voted on over McCain was for his push to fix health care.
He is going to push employer-based health insurance, having companies pay into a government fund if they do not want to support it.
This is going to be a difficult task for Obama as he will likely have to fix the economic crisis to have enough money to fix health care.
The belief though is that by the year 2010, the number of Americans without health insurance could be cut in half.

Got something to say?

He should look at the Singapore health care system, one of the best in the world.
The key is having a public health care hospital system, with support from the government.
This can be a system in parallel to private hospitals, which would be free to operate as they please.
Singapore has a similar system.
In addition, there are tiers of insurance: there is a minimum insurance available to all, and then “extra insurance” for those who want expiermental treatments, cosmetic surgery, there choice of physician and hospital, etc.etc.
There is a speicifc insurance for elderly, just like Medicare.
This is all in the Singapore system.
