Cops In Sodomy Pot Case Plead ‘Not Guilty’

December 11, 2008

New York (ChattahBox) – In a case of alleged police brutality that has horrified citizens all over the country, a police officer has been charged with sodomizing a suspected pot user, and two other have been charged with attempting to cover up the act.

Detective Richard Kern has been charged with aggravated sexual assault after Michael Mineo (shown left) reported that he had been sodomized by the defendant with a police baton on a subway platform after being spotted smoking marijuana as Kern and the two other defendants, Andrew Morales and Alex Cruz sat in an unmarked police car.

Morales and Cruz allegedly held down the victim and handcuffed his hands behind his back, keeping him in place as Kern sodomized him. If convicted, Kern could face up to 25 years in prison.

“I’m pleased but it still hasn’t changed what happened to me,” said Michael Mineo. “I still have abdominal pain, rectal pain.”

This is one of many cases of police brutality to come out of New York City, which is thought to be one of the worst cities relating to violent abuse of police power in the US.
