US Leading In Wind Energy, Says New Report

December 28, 2008

US (ChattahBox) – Statistics released by the American Wind Energy Association show that we may have been taking greater leaps in green energy then we originally thought. America is now the leading country in wind energy, overtaking even the highly environmentally conscious Germany, after a record breaking year of wind energy market growth.

According to statistics, there is now enough wind energy being produced to replace electricity in 5.5 million homes, and the numbers are expected to increase as we enter 2009, now with a slightly more dedicated outlook on alternative energy.

“Wind energy installations are well ahead of the curve for contributing 20% of the U.S. electric power supply by 2030 as envisioned by the U.S. Department of Energy,” Executive Director of the American Wind Energy Association, Randall Swisher, said Friday.
