Man Arrested For Funeral Home Meth Lab

January 10, 2009

Arkansas (ChattahBox) – An Arkansas man has been arrested after breaking into a funeral home, and attempting to build a meth lab – across the street from the local police station.

Robert Lee Lewis broke into the Higginbotham Funeral Home, where he used to work, and began taking supplies into the basement of the building. After leaving for a time, Lewis forgot to turn off a light, leading the police, who had been working their shift at the precinct across the street, straight into Higginbothom.

Inside, they were surprised to find several materials use to create a meth lab. They arrested Lewis as he stepped back inside, unaware that anything had gone amiss.

Lewis has been released on $2,500 bail, and is being charged with drug possession with intent to use, possession of drug paraphernalia, with intent to manufacture, manufacture of methamphetamine and possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture.

His court hearing is set for January 21, although it is not yet clear how he will plead.
