Protesters Throw Shoes At Inflatable Bush

January 20, 2009

Washington D.C. (ChattahBox) – It looks as though shoe throwing is becoming a popular form of anger management. A group of protesters took to the White House this morning, and set up an effigy of leaving President George W. Bush, using him as a target for a large collection of donated shoes.

The Bush effigy was large, around 25-feet-tall, wearing a ‘mission accomplished’ flight suit, a representation that seems to sum up with presidency perfectly for many.

The hundred or so protesters from the group ‘Code Pink’, a well known anti-war group, decided to take it a step further, and on their way out, they tossed the shoes over the White House fence, where they littered the lawn in a rather symbolic goodbye for our President.

“This is totally cathartic. How can you resist?” Forbes Hill, one of those present who traveled all the way from Las Angeles to take part.
