[...] Lynch’s case symbolizes the legal perversions resulting from dueling state and federal laws — he was operating legally under California law, he even had the blessing of the mayor and town — but the federal jury was not to hear of any of this. He was charged with selling to a batch of minors, but federal law considers anyone under 21 “a minor” (in California, it is under 18). One of these minors was a high school student with bone cancer who had his leg amputated and, accompanied by his parents, was given a prescription for medical marijuana by a Stamford oncologist when all other prescribed pain killers failed. Owen Beck’s full story never made it into the court record. A good profile by Drew Carey, here. [...]

if marijuana will fix his problem let him use it.. its kinda funny how everyone said obama is for medical marijuana use, he still hasnt done a thing about it and wont because he isnt going to, just like the economy, if he was intending on working to get it fixed he would. and im talking about every one in office. these people are college educated, even princeton and harvard graduates. they know what they are doing, if they had the intention to fix the economy they would get it done. i think the federal govt in a whole is a hoax. there isnt a country anymore, just a world and the people in it to be controlled. HELL WITH THAT!!!

OMG! Every time I hear something like this is makes me wanna scream at the top of my lungs!!
What is wrong with some people!! 100 years in jail!?!?! WTF?

The federal government needs to disappear COMPLETELY!! We don't need their meddling and violent ways.
I'm 44 years old and I support Medical Marijuana.. Really, in general, I support FREEDOM. This means I can put whatever I want in MY body without having the government involved.
I blame a lot of this way of thinking on religion. I think religion keeps science down. Just imagine all the things we may have discovered earlier if it wasn't for religion thinking that god is the answer and not science.
It's religion that thinks that marijuana is a "sin"
I live in Iowa now, for about 1.5 years now, but I grew up in Los Angeles California. ANd I believe that Obama has said NO MORE to the federal government and they are to stay outta the states business regarding marijuana. So good for him! It's about time someone put the federal government in it's place!

We need to organize a Free Charlie Lynch concert. It worked once for John Sinclair. John Lennon played a free concert to raise awareness. Sinclair was released within days.
