Q: What’s the difference between the Nazis of WWII, Dick Cheney and G. W. Bush (who ordered the torture of prisoners), and far-Right Republicans?
A. The Nazis have already been tried for their crimes against humanity.
Well, if you believe in Evolution then he could be right.
Equal opportunity. I think not. We live in a country where there is an obvious double standard. For eight years we were fed daily abuse concerning our prior president. Much of which was blatently bigoted, it was not only accepted; It was praised. It’s quite disheartening to see anyone strike out at another based strictly on their skin color. It’s even more disheartening to see how blind we’ve become to the unequality of standards that are excpected between the races.
What ‘s a racist.
I am sure and have no doubt that there are many other like Rusty DePass in the repulican party. What’s ashame…
And this guy works for the top law enforcement person in the state of South Carolina? Says a lot about ALL the big whigs in that state, doesn’t it? This man is a full-blown racist who still lives in the 50s and 60s and has been hiding under a vile umbrella of the Republican party!! Anyone notice that there were hardly any African Americans in the McCain rallies?? Is there any surprise? The Repubs are equivalent to the white supremacists (sp)….the party of the “white” man! This guy should be firedf from his lofty position and NOT be allowed to hold any kind of government job! I realize the entire state of SC does not represent this guy! By the way, just who are his ancestors? I could name quite a few none-human entities.
What a ridiculous comment. Let’s look deep inside this idiot’s closets…. what shall we find? Hookers, Hypocritical homosexuality, adultery? There’s definitely something this p.o.s. hides! Just a matter of time before these high on their horse idiots are all exposed.
He’s as sorry as HE can be. So, he’s not able to be sorry. I think that hits the nail on the head.
PLEASE, Jon Stewart — do a piece on this old white racist!
mr depasses’s’ comment only proves that he was the first in line at theKKK and hitler youth rally’s back in his caveman days. he is so used to the status quo in his little circle, that he just can’t help himself. it is only the sad sad sad way that he was raised. he would like to see america the way it was in the 18,19 and 20th centuries and now the 21st century!!!
I will never fail to be amazed by the complete idiocy of these GOP members who publicly make comments like this. Seriously, do you NOT know we can SEE you?!
[...] yesterday, it was reported that a South Carolina Republican activist, Rusty DePass, compared an escaped gorilla to our First Lady, Michelle [...]
There was nothing racist about the statement. DePass was comparing Michelle Obama’s appearance to one of a gorilla. He didn’t say she looked like a gorilla because she is black. He said nothing about black people in his status. The only thing racist here is your assumption that all black people look alike. Otherwise, why would you think that DePass’s insult of Michelle Obama’s personal appearance also insults black people in general.
I think it is important to point out that non-black people can look like gorillas as well; look at Gerald Ford. George W. Bush looks more like a monkey than a gorilla. That comparison was made in public repeatedly for over eight years and nobody was ever accused of racism as far as I know.
The statement is incorrect, of course, because anything alive today cannot be an “ancestor” of anything else alive today. If the statement was in reference to evolution, it shows a profound misunderstanding of the theory.
