Minnesota Boy Who Fled Chemo Treatment Is Now Getting Better

June 24, 2009

Minnesota (ChattahBox) – The parents of 13-year-old Danny Hauser, who was court ordered to undergo chemotherapy after his parent’s refused treatment for his Hodgkins lymphoma, is showing progress. But the family isn’t buying it.

Colleen Hauser fled with her son last month, after he was ordered into chemotherapy, because the parent’s wished to continue to give the young boy alternative and natural remedies, despite the fact that at the time of the court ruling Danny was dying. Danny himself wanted to avoid chemotherapy as well, stating that he believed the treatment was ‘poison’.

“I get really sick when I do it,” Danny was quoted as telling the Associated Press in the Star Tribune.

“You get so dizzy, and I get a headache right away.”

But even as his tumors shrink and his health improves, his family believes that it is the continued use of vitamins and ionized water that is saving him, not the medical treatments he is going through weekly to save his life.

However, despite what some may see as unusual, even disturbing, beliefs, the fact that they are following court orders to have Danny treated is enough for the courts.
