Birther Soldier Refuses to Serve Under “Foreign Born” President Obama
July 14, 2009
(ChattahBox)—The fringe group of right-wing conspiracy theorists derisively referred to as “birthers” have obtained a new believer to their cause, a Maj. Stefan F. Cook, who is using the birthers’ beliefs that President Obama is not a natural born citizen, to refuse his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
Maj. Cook filed a suit in U.S. District Court as a conscientious objector, seeking a temporary restraining order from serving in the military under President Obama, claiming Obama is ineligible to be commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The lengthy filing claims that Cook “would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President’s command.” Cook claims that serving under a president who is not a natural born citizen, would subject him “…to possible prosecution as a war criminal.”
Cook’s lawyer for this exercise in wing-nuttery is none other than Orly Taitz referred to as, the Queen Bee of Birferstan, a California based dentist with an online law degree, who has made it her life’s mission to prove President Obama is not a natural born citizen.
Taitz verbally attacks anyone who gets in the way of her mission calling her opponents “Obama thugs” and judges who refuse to hear her numerous birther lawsuits “idiots.” She has referred to President Obama as an “usurper” and an “arrogant jerk from Africa and Indonesia.”
The birthers’ claims have no basis in fact, but they won’t let reality get in the way of a good conspiracy theory. Despite the release of an official notarized copy of Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate, together with birth announcements, showing he was born in Honolulu in 1961, the birthers continue on their quest.
Some birthers claim that Obama can’t be a U.S. citizen, because his Kenyan born father was a British subject, despite U.S law conferring citizenship to those born in the United States. Other birthers theorize that Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia and then possibly smuggled into the U.S. as an infant.
It was only a matter of time before Cook connected with the Queen Bee of Birferstan, since they both travel in the same fringe right-wing circles.
Cook has been a member of the Conservative website the FreeRepublic for the past six years, posting under the name “roaddog727. He is an ardent global warming denier, referring to global warming on his profile page as “Enviro-whacko global warming/ anthropomorphic cause of greenhouse gas production.”
Cook made a posting in March where he attached a wildly incoherent white paper attacking the legitimacy of Obama’s citizenship, mentioning that he had been in touch with Orly Taitz.
Cook describes himself on his profile page as a “staunch Republican and defender of the faith,” soon to be divorced, with a daughter named Erika and a cat named Dopey.
Looking at Orly Taitz’s website on late Tuesday evening, there now appears a new posting announcing that Cook’s deployment orders were revoked, including a copy of his orders from the Department of the Army. Taitz claims this proves that Cook won his lawsuit.
Taitz proceeds to solicit new birther soldier clients saying, “It’s proof that we have a totally illegitimate commander in chief and they will cave in each and every situation. It means that from now on any member of the military, who doesn’t like any order , needs to call Dr. Taitz, ESQ…”
