There's nothing sinister about the C Street Fellowship. The group just believes that "love thy neighbor" trumps the Ten Commandments if you're rich, white, male and Republican.

"Ensign claims he did nothing wrong and is not only not resigning from office, but plans to run for reelection for his Senate seat. “Sen. Ensign has complied with all applicable laws and Senate ethics rules,” said an Ensign spokesperson."

Really? Sources state that "Ensign personally paid Cynthia's insurance to compensate for Doug's loss of government benefits — all while continuing to pursue a sexual affair with Cindy Hampton." That constitutes payment in exchange for sexual favors with an employee; it's both prostitution (illegal in DC), and a violation of ethics.

The United States Army and other armed services have a regulation that states that members of the service must avoid even the *appearance* of ethics violations. Should we hold Senators to a lower standard than a private in the US Army? If so, should Senators not be paid less than a private?
