They should never be released! They may have been teenagers at the time, but they knew exactly what they were doing. They weren’t that stupid, and as for Leslie Van Houten, I can’t say I feel exactly sorry for her, what about Rosemary LaBianca? Did Ms. Van Houten feel sorry for her after she murdered her? Now Ms. Van Houten has cancer, It looks like God gave her a piece of her own medicine and like they say in the Bible, an eye for an eye.

The people they slaughtered like animals were not permitted to live out their final days with their families. These women showed no compassion for their victims…quite the contrary actually. They were shown compassion by having their death sentence commuted to life. Society owes them nothing.They should never be released.

Release them all, they were teens when they commited this crime/murder…they are not the same people and have done their penance, one of them is dying & paralyzed…why keep them incarcerated? It is only costing the taxpayers money to do so, let them go, they have spent their time in Purgatory, it is doubtful they will regress to their Manson ways, they are different , they are reformed, let them live out their lives outside of prison, they must live with the guilt of their former ways, that should be enough torment for them.

There is no concievable reason to ever let these people out of prison. It would certainly invoke utter disdain, and outrage, of entire generation, and most probably lead to their brutal execution.
