I can hear the Fortune 500 firms crossing TX of their list of new facilities. At last the educational system in Mississippi has someone to look down on. Even the Mormons in Utah have more sense. Perry is a complete loon and Texas will get what it deserves for electing him.

Why should this latest move suprise anyone? Fairness and inclusiveness haven't exactly been the hallmark of conservitive behavior. The left and center still don't get how focused the extreme right is. This is Texas we're talkin' about, too. My kids may have to use these books, but you can be sure they'll be learning "the real deal" from me. Did you believe everything you read in a textbook, or did your parents teach better?

Why don't we just tune in to talk radio and let the kids listen to Rush, Hannity and Savage everyday. Save a lot of money by eliminating some of those 'edicated' teachers. Boy, they would really learn a lot.........about hate, vindictiveness, racism and hatred. Come to think of it, aren't those traits prized in Texas?

Sam: Please get your facts straight. Governor Perry has consistently appointed extreme right-wing conservatives to head the State Board of Education. The current head, Gail Lowe is an outspoken creationist and she is responsible for choosing David Barton to be on the so-called "expert" panel.

Perry's first choice to head the board was Cynthia Dunbar who home schools her children and believes public education is a "subtly deceptive tool of perversion" and that government should be guided by a "biblical litmus test.” She is also a "birther" who believes that President Obama was not born in this country.

The Texas State Board of Education is elected. Perry has no involvement with who gets selected to sits on the board. He only picks the presiding officer. please get your facts correct.
