Christian Lady of S.C. Education Board: Alleged Web Porno Author

September 2, 2009

(ChattahBox)—There is something in the water in South Carolina. Or it must be the state’s quintessential setting for a good Southern Gothic romance novel, with it’s steamy heat, swampy Low country and Southern Belles with heaving breasts and illicit passion. Governor Mark Sanford recently shocked the Christian conservative state when he skipped town to be with his Argentine lover and “soul mate,” much to the surprise of his wife and four children.

The state’s lieutenant governor Andre Bauer, who has long been suspected of being gay, has apparently just been outed. And now we have Kristin Maguire, former education chair and Evangelical Christian mother of four, who allegedly moonlights as an Internet porn author of X-rated stories. Well, shut my mouth!

Kristin Maguire, a self-described Evangelical Christian lady has long been a staple of conservative politics in South Carolina, a close education advisor to Governor Sanford and chair of the State Board of Education, until she resigned on Friday in the wake of her porn scandal, citing the ill health of her parents.

According to the Post and Courier, Maguire “…is a county Republican leader and co-founder of South Carolina Parents Involved in Education, a group that pushes for abstinence education, taxpayer dollars spent on private schools and the teaching of intelligent design.”

She was inexplicably chosen by the Governor in 2007 to sit on the education board as a homeschooler of her four children. At the time, state Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler said of the appointment, “Having Kristin Maguire chair the State Board of Education is akin to Dick Cheney teaching a gun safety course. What does a woman who home-schools her four children know about South Carolina public schools?”

In between preaching hypocritically about her Christian principles and denying the theory of evolution, Maguire apparently escapes from the self-imposed constraints of her life and frequents Online X-rated chat rooms and Web sites, where she also writes pornographic erotic stories.

Maguire allegedly writes under the pen name of “Bridget Keeney” and FITSNews obtained some of her steamy porno stories, after they were brought to the attention of Governor Sanford’s office sometime this summer. The governor’s chief of staff, Scott English, apparently removed “Bridget Keeney’s” material from the Internet in an attempt to cover up the story, according to FITSNews.

Maguire admitted to visiting X-rated sites during a difficult time in her life, but denied authoring the stories. However, FITSNews uncovered two stories and chat room postings that can be attributed to Maguire.

On such post read:

“I fantasize about being the ’second’ F (female) in a MFF (threesome) where the other two are in a committed relationship,” the sultry “Bridget” writes on one post. “I would like to focus on pleasuring her and ‘enhancing’ their intercourse …”

One story entitled, “Continental Cuisine,” is an erotic tale of an American lady on a European train who sexually pleasures a young Danish student, described as “in great shape from tramping across Europe” with hair on the “scruffy side but “clean.” “It must be the decadent European air, I’ve become an ‘easy American,” mused the woman in the steamy sex tale.

Another erotic tale entitled, “Lauren’s Masturbatory Musings,“ tells the story of a sexually adventurous wife of a captain of industry, who enjoys pleasing her husband with threesomes with another woman.

As noted by FITSNews, it’s not illegal to indulge in a little sexual fantasy and pen steamy erotica and Maguire didn’t engage in her X-rated activities during her time on the State Board of Education.

But at the same time, she has long been a fixture in South Carolina conservative politics, quite vocal about her fundamentalist beliefs and a strong advocate for abstinence-only sex education in the schools.

“When Maguire was elected to lead the S.C. Board, her appointment was hailed as a victory for social conservatives and feted on Christian blogs and websites across the Southeast.”

“Maguire’s alleged alter-ego would obviously be quite a contrast from her carefully-cultivated public persona.”

This is just one more example of the hypocrisy of the right-wing religious fanatics who keep getting caught with their pants down. Whether they’re getting into foreign wars for no good reason, or trying (again) to get the book of Genesis taught in public school biology classes, or denying they have a drug problem even after getting caught, they have no shame. They try to control other people’s lives even while their own lives are out of control. They’re all hypocrites.

The difference between “conservatives” and “liberals” is that liberals are honest about their humanity, which the conservatives try to pretend that they are somehow superior to the majority of people, while in secret they practice precisely the same vices as everyone else.

There is a special place in Hell for hypocrites, and the sooner they go there, the better.

This is along the same lines as Scooter Libby’s book “The Apprentice.” I read excerpts on the internet, and without buying the filthy rag, I saw enough to let me know that there are people in government in this country that should never have been given the power that they flagrantly enjoyed. Did Bush and Cheney just laugh off Libby’s “fiction” or what? Why doesn’t this stuff come out when it should? State run media? Hmmmmm…. commute his sentence? What were they thinking?
